We blast the steel surface to remove all rust and oil, creating a rough texture that maximizes the mechanical bond with the friction material.
A high-strength adhesive glue is sprayed onto the backing plates to guarantee a bond that exceeds ISO shear strength standards.
Quality begins with the formula. We use fully automated computer-controlled weighing systems to blend our friction materials. This eliminates human error and ensures that the friction coefficient remains consistent from the first batch to the last.
Zeal Brakes uses Positive Molding Technology. We apply extreme pressure and heat simultaneously to compress the friction material and backing plate. This results in: uniform density, higher structural integrity and better resistance to fading.
After molding, the pads enter our automated curing ovens. Here, they are heat-treated at precise temperatures for extended periods. This process stabilizes the friction material, fully cures the resin, and ensures the pad can withstand the high heat of daily driving.
The pads are moved to our automated grinding lines. Surface Grinding: Ensures the pad face is perfectly parallel to the backing plate. Chamfering & Slotting: Custom slots and chamfers are cut according to OEM specifications to reduce noise and gas buildup.
We subject the pad surface to a "thermal shock" (Scorching) of 600°C+ for a few seconds. This burns off initial uncured resins and gases (the "green" layer), significantly reducing the break-in period and increasing initial stopping power for the driver.
To prevent rust and corrosion, every backing plate is treated with an electrostatic powder coating. This ensures the pads look professional and withstand harsh weather conditions, road salt, and humidity.
Wear sensors and hardware clips are installed. RSR noise-dampening shims are mechanically attached or bonded.
